According to a recent article in InvestmentNews, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. (FINRA) recently barred, ANDREW JOSEPH EGBER, a former Wells Fargo Advisor broker from Maryland. Egber was accused of alleged theft by his former employer. According to the article, Egber was not barred from the securities industry for any theft allegations but he was barred over procedural matters. Egber allegedly refused to produce information and documents requested pursuant to industry rules, a violation that results in financial advisors being barred from the industry.
According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, available to the public on FINRA's website, ANDREW JOSEPH EGBER, was with Wells Fargo Clearing Services LLC of Rockville, Maryland from 02/27/2009 - 01/19/2018. He then left Wells Fargo Advisors for Raymond James Financial Services of Bethesda, Maryland from 01/12/2018 - 05/27/2022, then went to Steward Partners Investment Solutions also of Bethesda, Maryland from 05/27/2022 - 04/18/2024.
According to the InvestmentNews article, while ANDREW JOSEPH EGBER was with Steward Partners Investment Solutions, along with two former advisors who also left Wells Fargo, managed $230 million in clients assets.
According to the FINRA order, ANDREW JOSEPH EGBER, accepted FINRA’s findings without admitting or denying them. FINRA noted that in March, Wells Fargo had started an internal review related to Egber, the firm was “reviewing allegations of possible theft of client funds” by Egber, according to the article from InvestmentNews.
FINRA’s BrokerCheck states that ANDREW JOSEPH EGBER was in the securities industry for 35 years and was listed with 5 firms. He has 5 disclosures on his FINRA CRD report, one is a customer dispute filed in February of 2024 with the allegations of, “Customers complain that they made an outside investment through the Financial Advisor and would like to be made whole on funds that were not returned. (5/19/2017).” This dispute is pending. There was a complaint denied in 2001 and three financial matters that are closed filed in 2016.
