CHRISTOPHER CONNESS Sell You Unsuitable Investments?
Soreide Law Group is investigating possible investor claims against G.F. Investment Services LLC and securities broker Christopher Conness (CRD#: 4778193, Fort Lauderdale, Florida). Namely, the firm is investigating whether Conness was negligent and failed to act in the best interests of his investor clients with respect to his alternative investment sales. Indeed, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) BrokerCheck Report for Conness shows three customers complained about him. Here is a summary of claims raising concerns about Conness making sales practice violations and causing investor harm:
GF Investment Services Customer Alleges Christopher Conness’ Negligence, Breach Of Fiduciary Duty
On March 1, 2018, a customer of GF Investment Services filed FINRA Arbitration #: 18-00798. Primarily, the customer alleged Christopher Conness failed to act in the customer’s best interest. Supposedly, Conness engaged in irresponsible behavior when recommending investments. Apparently, Conness unreasonably told the customer to invest in real estate security products. Supposedly, Conness’ bad advice on alternative investments caused the customer to suffer losses. Because of this, GF Investment Services opted to settle the matter on February 1, 2019 by paying the customer $10,000.
FINRA Arbitration Suggests Conness’ Facilities Used By Unlicensed Individual To Sell Bad Investments
Evidently, on May 16, 2018, a customer of GF Investment Services LLC brought FINRA Arbitration #: 18-01871. Supposedly, the customer referred to Christopher Conness in bringing the claim. Allegedly, in November 2016, GF Investment Services or Conness allowed an “unlicensed individual” to sell an unregistered security to the customer. That unlicensed individual, who supposedly made multiple sales practice infractions, allegedly used GF Investment Services LLC’s and Conness’ facilities to sell the investment. Because of this, the customer alleged $100,001.00 in damages. Evidently, this matter is underway.
GF Investment Services Customer Claims Christopher Conness Made Unsuitable REIT And Annuity Sales
The third dispute Conness reports concerns another GF Investment Services LLC customer who alleged unsuitability. Allegedly, Conness sold the customer a fixed annuity and a REIT. Supposedly, those investments were not consistent with the customer’s goals or risk tolerance. Further, it is possible that Conness over-concentrated the customer’s assets in alternative investments. However, this matter closed with no action on April 21, 2017. Lars Soreide Highest Ethical Standard Award 2018
