CHRISTOPHER DUKE BENNETT Barred

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) barred CHRISTOPHER DUKE BENNETT (CRD#: 2510231) a former Hilliard Lyons of Louisville, Kentucky, registered representative, from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with a broker/dealer firm. Bennett was previously registered both as a broker and as an investment advisor. According to FINRA, Bennett did not cooperate with FINRA’s investigation into several client complaints alleging that he conducted trading in clients’ accounts without their permission and made unsuitable investments.
On July 31, 2020, without admitting or denying FINRA’s findings, CHRISTOPHER DUKE BENNETT consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he failed to provide information and documents requested by FINRA in connection with its investigation in response to an amended Form U5 filed by his former member firm that identified a client complaint alleging that he had conducted trading in her account without her permission.
FINRA’s findings stated that FINRA's investigation of Bennett expanded to include additional claims by other clients alleging similar misconduct, as well as allegations of unsuitable recommendations.
CHRISTOPHER DUKE BENNETT was a registered representative with Hilliard Lyons of Louisville, Kentucky for 22 years, from December of 1995 until October of 2018.  According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, Bennett has 17 Disclosures on his CRD report.  Of the 17 Disclosures, 2 are Regulatory and 15 are Customer Disputes dating back to 2016, all while he was with Hilliard Lyons. The significance of Bennett’s FINRA Customer Complaints is underscored in FINRA NOTICE to MEMBERS 03-49. FINRA conducted a review of the CRD’s of all registered representatives, only .41% had been the subject of (3) or more customer complaints. In other words Bennett’s customer complaints rank him in the top one-hundredth percent of all registered representatives for customer complaints.
According to the 15 Customer Disputes on CHRISTOPHER DUKE BENNETT’s  BrokerCheck report, available to the public on FINRA’s website, some of the allegations listed in the complaints settled were, “violation of the Securities Act of Kentucky, breach of fiduciary duty, unsuitable investment recommendations, unauthorized trading, unsuitability, overconcentration, churning, and lack of diversification,” to name a few. There were several cash settlements in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
CHRISTOPHER DUKE BENNETT was listed only with the following firm:
