ATTENTION INVESTORS: Losses from Cetera Broker CLARA TANG?

Evidently, a Cetera Investment Services LLC customer took issue with Clara Tang’s conduct in filing a March 20, 2019 complaint with the brokerage firm. Allegedly, Tang permitted someone to forge the customer’s signature on investment documents. Then, the customer’s funds relocated without the customer’s permission into bad investments including real estate securities. Supposedly, the customer’s funds transferred to illiquid real estate investments which may have been unsuitable for the customer. Because of this, the customer seeks compensatory relief for the alleged forgery.
August 21, 2018 FINRA Arbitration Involving Tang, Possible Elder Financial Abuse
Cetera Investment Services, LLC also disclosed that a customer complained about Clara Tang’s sales practices in filing FINRA Arbitration #18-02896. Evidently, the customer’s claim, brought August 21, 2018, raises allegations of unsuitability. Particularly, the customer claimed that Tang, or someone under Tang’s supervision, invested the customer’s assets in Business Development Corporation of America (BDCA), which is a New York, New York based business development company. Typically, BDC investments are difficult to sell because they are not traded on a national exchange. Plus, they can contain high up-front costs. Allegedly, the BDCA investments was not suitable for the customer.
Secondly, the customer claimed that Cetera Investment Services or Clara Tang violated a fiduciary responsibility to the customer. Thirdly, Tang allegedly violated an investment agreement or contract under which the customer was a party. Finally, the customer claimed that Cetera Investment Services or Tang engaged in elder financial abuse. Because of this, the customer requested an undisclosed amount of compensatory damages in this ongoing matter.
