GABRIEL BLOCK (GABE BLOCK) CRD#: 2103543 was barred by FINRA from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with a broker-dealer firm for failing to respond to FINRA request for information. According to FINRA, in accordance with FINRA's Notice of Suspension and Suspension from Association letters dated February 12, 2019, and March 8, 2019, respectively, on May 15, 2019, Block was barred from association with any FINRA member in all capacities. GABRIEL BLOCK failed to request termination of his suspension within three months of the date of the Notice of Suspension and is automatically barred from association with any FINRA member in all capacities.
Also, the New Jersey Bureau of Securities has revoked GABRIEL BLOCK’s registration in the state and ordered him to pay a $750,000 civil penalty. According to news reports, the New Jersey regulator took this action against GABRIEL BLOCK over his alleged high-cost unsuitable trading from 2008 to 2015 that generated at least $1.6 million for him and his broker/dealers. It was alleged Block kept approximately half of that amount. The complaint mentions three alleged victims he allegedly engaged in the short-term buying and selling. The news reports listed one of the victims as a quadriplegic construction accident victim, another was a 75 year-old widow, and also an unemployed widow and mother of three.
According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, GABRIEL BLOCK has 16 Disclosures on his report. Of these 16 Disclosures, 12 are Customer Disputes. So far, 5 of these Customer Disputes have been settled with the settlement amounts ranging from $30,000 to $375,000. There are three Customer Disputes still Pending, and one of those disputes is requesting damages in the amount of $2,000,000 for alleged suitability and excessive trading.
