Jean Walsh-Josephson, formerly of Thrivent Investment Management Inc., found dead in Apparent Suicide Pact

On November 30, 2015, Soreide Law Group published the following article on our blog regarding JEAN A. WALSH-JOSEPHSON (CRD# 2736044) (Alternate Names: JEAN ANN JOSEPHSON, JEAN WALSH-JOSEPHSON), a former financial advisor from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, charged with 20 counts of theft in a business setting of more than $10,000 each. Allegedly, Walsh-Josephson stole $1.5 million from several Wisconsin seniors. One of the clients Walsh-Josephson allegedly stole more than $300,000 from, is a widower who lives on $975 a month and invested his entire life savings with Jean Walsh-Josephson. She was facing years in prison.

On February 27, 2017 Jean Walsh-Josephson, on trial in Wisconsin on multiple felony charges was found dead with her husband in a double shooting, an apparent suicide pact. It appeared the Josephsons planned the shootings and wrote their own obituaries and farewell letters.
Jean Walsh-Josephson, 57, and Dewey Josephson, 59, died from gunshot wounds.
Walsh-Josephson’s jury trial started last week on 36 felony charges of theft in a business setting in excess of $10,000, plus three lesser charges.
After learning of her death, the circuit court ordered all her estate assets to be frozen, including the bond money, and scheduled a hearing in April to decide what to do with the money.
Last year, the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance ordered Jean Walsh-Josephson to pay a $1 million forfeiture and more than $500,000 in restitution.
