JMS has been sued by a foundation alleging that Jack W. Griffith Jr. recommended high-risk energy investments causing damages in excess of $4 million.
Jack W. Griffith Jr. sold clients Linn Energy and Peabody Energy investments, and allegedly, JMS had investment banking relationships with these bankrupt companies. JMS, allegedly helped sell new Linn Energy and Peabody Energy investments to the market, leading to substantial losses for JMS investors.
Peabody Energy filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on April 13, 2016. Linn Energy filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 11, 2016.
According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, Jack W. Griffith Jr., has been in the securities industry for 31 years.  He has 4 Disclosures on his report, 3 of them are “Customer Disputes.”  Some of the allegations pending are:  recommending unsuitable securities and over-concentration in energy investments.
