FINRA Issues Sanction To John Barrett

Soreide Law Group is currently investigating potential claims on behalf of individuals who may have suffered financial losses due to the actions of securities broker and financial advisor, John Kevin Barrett [CRD#: 4748518, Westlake Village, California]. Evidently, Barrett worked for Emerson Equity LLC in Westlake Village, CA, from January 7, 2015, to February 3, 2021. Notably, on July 26, 2021, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) sanctioned Barrett due to his non-compliance during an inquiry.

Barrett Sanctioned By FINRA For Non-Compliance With Information Request

Notably, FINRA issued Case: 2020066078201 on July 26, 2021, sanctioning John Barrett for infractions. The circumstances leading to the regulatory action initiated by FINRA against Barrett arose when he did not provide the information requested by the regulator.

Specifically, FINRA sent a Notice of Suspension on April 21, 2021, and a subsequent Suspension from Association letter on May 17, 2021. Barrett did not request the termination of his suspension within the required three months following the Notice of Suspension. Notably, this inaction automatically resulted in Barrett being permanently barred from association with any FINRA member across all capacities, starting from July 26, 2021.

Also, a client filed a complaint about John Barrett. Evidently, the client alleged that Barrett failed to verbally disclose fees related to an investment in variable annuities.
