JON PETER LINDBERG Formerly of PROEQUITIES

JON PETER LINDBERG, according to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s (FINRA) BrokerCheck, was a former broker with PROEQUITIES, INC of Birmingham, Alabama from 08/02/1989 - 08/10/2018.

On FINRA’s BrokerCheck, available to the public on FINRA’s website, two “Regulatory” actions listed are currently pending. On May 27, 2020, the state of Montana initiated a regulatory action against JON PETER LINDBERG for allegations of “Fraud, Unsuitable recommendations, Breach of Fiduciary Duty.” The other “Regulatory” action is dated April 2, 2019, and was initiated by the Alabama Securities Commission.  The allegations against JON PETER LINDBERG are, “1. failed to inform his broker dealer of 2 customer complaints 2. failed to adequately disclose risks of options program to clients. 3. Failed to update his form adv to reflect disciplinary events. 4. Failed to uphold his duty as a fiduciary to his clients. 5. Failed to follow his own policies and procedures.”

According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck JON PETER LINDBERG was previously registered both as a broker and as an investment advisor but is not currently registered.  He has been in the securities industry for 34 years and was listed with 5 firms.  Lindberg has 6 disclosures on his FINRA CRD report, the two “Regulatory,” 3 “Customer Disputes,” and 1 “Employment Separation after Allegations,” which was dated 8/8/2018.  JON PETER LINDBERG was discharged from PROEQUITIES, INC. following allegations of, “Failure to disclose complaints and settlement related to independent RIA (registered investment advisor).”

Of the three “Customer Disputes” listed on JON PETER LINDBERG’s CRD report, 2 were settled in 2018, for $64,000.00 and the other for $92,607.11.  The third dispute settled in 2021 for $32,500.00 following the allegations of, “Client alleges that representative recommended unsuitable options transactions resulting in portfolio losses.”
