Joseph Cannon Barred By FINRA, Linked To Northwestern Mutual Client Dispute

FINRA barred securities broker Joseph Michael Cannon (also known as Joe Cannon) [CRD: 6341199, Chicago, Illinois] and a client complained about him, according to publicly available disclosures on Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) BrokerCheck. Cannon worked for Northwestern Mutual Investment Services LLC from April 16, 2016, to September 11, 2024. Cannon Sanctioned By FINRA For Refusing Testimony

Notably, FINRA issued Case: 2023080630201 on March 19, 2025, sanctioning Joseph Cannon. Allegedly, Cannon refused to provide testimony requested by FINRA during an investigation into activity involving client investment accounts. Therefore, Cannon was barred in all capacities from associating with any FINRA member firm.

Northwestern Mutual Investment Services LLC Investor Accused Joseph Cannon Of Unauthorized Transfers

Specifically, on November 26, 2024, a Northwestern Mutual Investment Services LLC client filed a complaint about Joseph Cannon. Supposedly, Cannon engaged in unauthorized trading. Consequently, the client requested $2,360,400.00 in compensation from Northwestern Mutual Investment Services LLC or Cannon.

Cannon’s Registration Terminated For Questionable Transactions

Evidently, Northwestern Mutual Investment Services LLC disaffiliated with Cannon on August 12, 2024. Allegedly, at the time that he resigned, Cannon was under internal review for transactions associated with both his client investment accounts and his personal accounts.
