LISA ANNE BOISSELLE Charged in Alleged $1.4 million Cryto Investment Scheme

Loss Due to Stock Broker

LISA ANNE BOISSELLE (aka LISA BOISSELLE, LISA ANNE HOMER, LISA ANNE JAGER, LISA JAGER), 54-year-old former registered advisor in Scottsdale, Arizona, was charged by Arizona regulations with allegedly promoting two international Ponzi-like schemes that defrauded her clients of almost $1.4 million, according to a recent article from the Financial Advisor.

LISA ANNE BOISSELLE, and her firm, LABI Investments d/b/a Wealthwise, were charged by the Securities Division of the Arizona Corporation Commission with the offer and sale of unregistered securities, transactions by unregistered dealers or salesmen, and fraud in connection with the offer or sale of securities, according to the Financial Advisor article. According to the state’s August 5th temporary cease and desist order, the sales began in November of 2021.

The article states that LISA ANNE BOISSELLE, also known as LISA ANNE HOMER, was arrested for allegedly participating in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. Boisselle was later pardoned by President Trump.

According to the order, allegedly between November of 2021 and April of 2023, LISA ANNE BOISSELLE solicited at approximately $1,398,900 from around 16 clients for two unrelated international cryptocurrency investments, NovaTech and HyperFund (a/k/a HyperVerse), and received commissions from the sales. During that time Wealthwise was not registered to sell securities in Arizona, and from Feb. 18, 2022, when Boisselle left LPL Financial, Boisselle was not registered to sell securities in the state of Arizona, the order stated.

The Financial Advisor article states that LISA ANNE BOISSELLE allegedly described NovaTech and HyperFund to her clients as foreign exchange and cryptocurrency investment platforms where investors could make a substantial profit simply by funding their NovaTech and HyperFund accounts on their websites. Boisselle allegedly told other investors to wire money to Wealthwise’s bank account, and then she allegedly would wire the funds to her own Coinbase account before sending the funds on to NovaTech. Between June 25, 2022 and Sept. 19, 2022, Boisselle allegedly executed at least 14 transactions between her personal Coinbase account and NovaTech totaling $830,761.55, the order said.

The regulators stated that NovaTech operated as a multi-level marketing structure, in which promoters like LISA ANNE BOISSELLE and Wealthwise were paid commissions to bring in new investors.

On Aug. 12, 2024, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court in Florida against NovaTech alleging the platform was a fraudulent crypto trading investment Ponzi-style scheme that raised more than $650 million from more than 200,000 investors in the U.S. and abroad. NovaTech used new investor funds to make commission payments to the promoters and to existing investor funds before the scheme collapsed in May 2023, the complaint said. HyperFund operated much the same way, according to the Arizona cease-and-desist order.

The state asked for the denial, revocation or suspension of LISA ANNE BOISSELLE’s and Wealthwise’s licenses. The order also asked that Boisselle and Wealthwise permanently cease and desist from violating state securities laws, that they take action to correct the conditions they created, including restitution to their clients, and pay $5,000 for each violation of the state securities act and $1,000 for each violation of the investment management act.

According to the SEC’s website, LISA ANNE BOISSELLE has 12 years of experience in the securities industry and has been listed with 4 firms. She was registered at Waddell & Reed in Yakima, Washington, and Boise, Idaho, from May 2010 to July 2017. Boisselle a broker for LPL Financial in Scottsdale, Arizona, from January 5, 2018, to February 18, 2022. She also worked as an investment advisor from January 9, 2018, to March 29, 2021 at Financial Advocates Investment Management in Scottsdale, Arizona, and LPL Financial from March 5, 2021 to February 18, 2002, according to the SEC website.
