The Claimant brings this action to recover alleged losses due to JP Morgan structured notes sold by Financial Advisor, Brian Singleton. The lawsuit states that the Respondent allegedly understood that the Claimant did not want to take any unnecessary risks investing, however, the Respondent and Singleton allegedly recommended that the Claimant invest in several high risk structured products. According to the lawsuit, the Claimant was advised that the structured investments were secure with stable principal. Brian Singleton is not named in this lawsuit.
According to the lawsuit, after several structured note investments matured, the Respondent and Brian Singleton, recommended that Claimant invest $94,000 in a JP Morgan structured product tied to the performance of the energy markets (Cusip 48132C4L4). The Claimant suffered losses of approximately $55,000 in 15 months in this investment.
The lawsuit alleges: breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, negligence, violations of FINRA rules, and negligent supervision.
According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, available to the public on FINRA’s website, BRIAN JESSE SINGLETON (Brian Singleton CRD#: 4838440), has been in the securities industry for 17 years and has been listed with 3 firms. Singleton has 3 disclosures listed on his FINRA CRD report, all three are “Customer Disputes.” One dispute had settled and 2 were denied.
