Violeta Maria Godoy Zuniga (CRD #5792585, Registered Representative, Doral, Florida)
was barred by FINRA for alleged misappropriation of $7,000 from a bank customer for her own personal use. Godoy Zuniga assisted a customer in opening a savings account. The customer then instructed Violeta Godoy Zuniga to withdraw $8,000, and deposit the money in the newly opened account. Instead Godoy Zuniga deposited only $1,000, and kept the $7,000 for her own personal use.
At a later visit to the bank, Godoy Zuniga approached the customer and informed him that she had kept the $7000 but would return the money to his account. She asked that he not report the misappropriation of funds to the management. However, the customer filed a police report and Godoy Zuniga’s employment was terminated. The bank returned the money to the customer.
