FINRA Sanctions Michael Knittel

FINRA stock Broker losses

Soreide Law Group is investigating possible investor claims against securities broker Michael Knittel (also known as Michael Murray Knittel) [CRD: 3274235, Dorado Hills, CA]. Evidently, FINRA sanctioned the securities broker, who worked for Fortune Financial Services Inc. Allegedly, Knittel engaged in private securities transactions. Also, an investor filed a dispute about him. Here is a brief summary of FINRA’s allegations against Knittel.

FINRA Sanctions Knittel For Private Securities Transactions

Notably, on January 28, 2022, FINRA issued Case: 2020067053001 sanctioning Michael Knittel for infractions. Specifically, Knittel was issued a 4-month suspension as a securities broker, meaning FINRA disallowed him from maintaining an association with FINRA-member firms. Also, the financial regulator issued him a fine in the amount of $10,000. Notably, FINRA alleged that Knittel engaged in private securities transactions. Allegedly, he solicited investors for a promissory note issued by an LLC.

Michael Knittel Disclosed Negligence Allegations By Fortune Financial Services Inc. Client

Also, a client of Fortune Financial Services Inc. contested Michael Knittel’s sales practices by filing a civil suit on June 1, 2020. Allegedly, Knittel made unsuitable recommendations, was negligent, and breached a contract. Supposedly, Knittel caused the client to sustain damages on direct investments. Therefore, the client asked for compensatory relief from Fortune Financial Services Inc. or Knittel in this dispute, which the firm and broker denied.

Wachovia Securities LLC Investor Accused Knittel Of Poor ARS Products

Evidently, a Wachovia Securities LLC client filed a complaint about Michael Knittel. Namely, the client alleged that Knittel sold them ARS investments, which the client believed to be safe and liquid. Because of this, the client allegedly sustained damages on auction rate securities. Therefore, on August 15, 2008, Wachovia Securities LLC settled this matter by paying the client $25,000 in damages. However, the firm and Knittel admit no liability in this settlement.

Knittel worked for Fortune Financial Services Inc. in Dorado Hills, CA, as a securities broker from January of 2015 to December of 2021.
