FINRA Sanctions Raymond Jennison

Victim of Risky Investments?

Soreide Law Group is investigating possible investor claims against securities broker Raymond Jennison (also known as Raymond Ellis Jennison Jr.) [CRD: 867502, Dallas, TX]. Evidently, FINRA sanctioned the securities broker, who worked for First Canterbury Securities Inc. Evidently, on September 16, 2022, FINRA issued Case: 2020065342802 sanctioning Raymond Jennison for infractions. Specifically, Raymond Jennison was barred as a securities broker, so he cannot work as a broker and in other capacities for FINRA-member firms. Notably, FINRA alleged that Raymond Jennison failed to testify when FINRA investigated the securities broker for potential FINRA rule infractions. The regulator’s rules mandate that brokers cooperate in investigations or else face sanctions including a potential bar (most severe sanction) as securities broker.

Raymond Jennison Disclosed Negligence Allegations By First Canterbury Securities Inc. Client

Also, a client of First Canterbury Securities Inc. contested Raymond Jennison’s sales practices by filing FINRA Arbitration: 08-00684. Allegedly, Jennison made unsuitable recommendations, made misrepresentations to the client, made omissions of material fact, was negligent, breached a fiduciary duty, and failed to supervise registered representatives. It is alleged that Jennison caused the client to sustain damages on equity and income funds. Therefore, First Canterbury Securities Inc. opted to settle the matter on June 18, 2009, by compensating the client in the amount of $40,000. However, the firm and broker admit no liability in this settlement.

Additionally, a First Canterbury Securities Inc. client filed FINRA Arbitration: 06-03648 about Raymond Jennison. Namely, the client alleged that Jennison engaged in unauthorized trading and committed forgery. On June 15, 2007, a FINRA Arbitration Panel found in favor of the client.
