Ernesto Chavez (CRD: 4315877) faces a new pending claim on BrokerCheck over an investment made in 2018. The customer alleges $180,000 in damages, and no arbitrator has ruled on the claim.

Robert Burns (CRD: 1286211) faces a pending customer claim that alleges excessive trading and $200,000 in damages, according to BrokerCheck. The claim names Burns Financial Advisors, his outside RIA.
His report also shows two earlier customer disputes, which settled in 2008 and 2014. BrokerCheck lists his full name as Robert E. Burns.

A client filed a FINRA arbitration on October 23, 2013 under docket number 14-00971, alleging $38,000 in damages. Burns Financial Advisors and Ausdal Financial Partners both appear on the disclosure. It says Burns managed an account for the clients. When the matter settled on September 12, 2014, Robert Burns individually contributed $25,000.
In his statement, Burns said the client alleged the account lost value from 2009 through 2013. During most of that time, he said, Burns Financial Advisors held the account. Then in March 2012, by his account, the advisory account closed. The money moved to Ausdal Financial Partners, where it sat in First Trust.
Earlier, a claimant filed a dispute on December 17, 2007, alleging $200,000 in damages, and L. M. Kohn is the firm on that disclosure. Robert Burns then settled it on October 13, 2008 for $55,000.
That claimant alleged inappropriate money management and unsuitable investments. Beyond those, the claimant also alleged a lack of personal responsibility as a registered representative and principal, as well as the mishandling of a life insurance policy that lapsed. According to BrokerCheck, the events took place between 2001 and 2006.
Most recently, the client filed the newest claim on July 28, 2026, and the disclosure says the client alleges excessive trading. The client also alleges an inaccurate risk profile. Given the client's age, the client says, the account should have carried a conservative to moderate profile.
By the client's account, its value declined between 2020 and 2025. All of the activity took place in advisory accounts through the representative's RIA, per BrokerCheck. The claim remains pending, and no arbitrator has ruled on it.
