SCOTT JAY MATALON (SCOTT J MATALON) has been barred by FINRA from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with a broker-dealer firm. On June 6, 2023, without admitting or denying FINRA’s findings, SCOTT J MATALON consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he allegedly refused to provide documents and information requested by FINRA in connection with its investigation of allegations made in a statement of claim filed against his member firm by one his clients.

Matalon was with RBC Capital Markets, LLC from 08/15/2019 until 08/02/2021. He was listed with Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc from 05/31/2013 to 08/16/2019. Matalon has 4 disclosures on his FINRA CRD report. Two of the disclosures are “Customer Disputes.”
In a recent article from AdvisorHub, they stated that SCOTT J MATALON was previously a ‘top’ broker and in 2019 was ranked #36 on Forbes’ next gen best-in-state wealth advisors list and #53 on its best-in-state wealth advisors list in New York. In 2019 Matalon moved from Ameriprise to RBC and relocated to Boca Raton, Florida.
The AdvisorHub article also states that Matalon has a recent pending dispute on his FINRA CRD report claiming $2.5 million in damages. SCOTT J MATALON is also facing the pending felony charges for kidnapping and battery after he allegedly beat and imprisoned a woman in Broward County, Florida in July 2021. The article states that it was just three weeks after being arrested for domestic violence against another woman. Matalon pleaded not guilty on all counts to the felony charges, and both criminal cases are still open, according to court documents.
