STEVEN DALE RODEMER SEC Complaint

retiree of stock broker fraud

STEVEN DALE RODEMER (CRD#: 830561) a former broker who was recently listed with Stifel, Nicolaus & Co of Pueblo, Colorado, had a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) complaint filed against him in U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado on September 3, 2020, alleging he took money from a widowed client’s account and took advantage of her as her financial advisor. The widow also had granted him power of attorney, and according to the SEC, Rodemer allegedly misappropriated $451,889 of her money.
According to the SEC complaint, “Rodemer used the funds for a variety of personal expenses, including to cover construction and maintenance costs on his vacation home in Breckenridge, Colorado, to pay insurance premiums, to fund an undisclosed brokerage account in his wife’s name, to make credit card payments, and to pay for a number of other miscellaneous, everyday expenses like gas and groceries.” STEVEN DALE RODEMER agreed to pay $385,536 to the SEC to settle the SEC’s claim the same day the SEC complaint was filed.
STEVEN DALE RODEMER was barred by FINRA in March of 2020.  According to the FINRA complaint, Rodemer,  without admitting or denying FINRA’s findings, consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he refused to provide on-the-record testimony requested by FINRA during its investigation into the conduct disclosed in a Form U5 submitted by his member firm. FINRA’s findings stated that the firm submitted the Form U5 terminating Rodemer for allegedly taking money from a client account for his personal use without authorization.
According to the SEC complaint, from March of 2012 through December of 2019, STEVEN DALE RODEMER was the client’s advisor and handled all of her finances.
STEVEN DALE RODEMER was barred as a broker, and he is no longer registered as a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), according to FINRA. He was in the securities industry for 43 years and listed with 9 firms, the two most recent listed below:
