Notably, FINRA issued Acceptance, Waiver, and Consent No. 2018059749401 on January 17, 2020, sanctioning Andrew Grant for infractions. Allegedly, Grant engaged in discretionary trading. Therefore, Grant was fined $5,000 and suspended for 15 days as a securities broker.
Between January 1, 2018, and April 30, 2019, Grant conducted 634 transactions in the accounts of 13 clients by exercising discretionary trading authority. None of these 13 clients provided written authorization for Grant to make trades on their behalf, and Laidlaw did not approve these accounts for discretionary trading.
As a result, Grant violated NASD Rule 2510(b) and FINRA Rule 2010.
Laidlaw Company (UK) Ltd. Investor Accuses Grant Of Unsuitable Recommendations
Supposedly, on August 2, 2018, a Laidlaw Company (UK) Ltd. client filed a complaint about Andrew Grant. Namely, the client alleged that Grant made unsuitable recommendations.
