FINRA barred securities broker Bertram Brasher Unger (also known as Bill Unger) [CRD: 2334575, Jupiter, Florida], and investors complained about him, based on public information located on Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) BrokerCheck. Unger worked for Edward Jones from April 22, 2019, to June 29, 2022. Evidently, on September 5, 2023, FINRA issued Case: 2022076343201 sanctioning Bertram Unger. According to FINRA, the regulatory action stemmed from Unger’s failure to request termination of his suspension within three months of FINRA’s Notice of Suspension dated May 31, 2023, and a subsequent notice dated June 26, 2023. As a result, under FINRA Rule 9552(h), Unger was automatically barred from association with any FINRA member firm in all capacities.

For this reason, the client allegedly incurred damages related to stocks. Consequently, on September 15, 2023, Edward Jones settled this matter by paying the client $14,878 in damages.
Notably, a client of Edward Jones contested Bertram Unger’s sales practices, according to a complaint. Allegedly, Unger engaged in unauthorized trading by selling more securities than the client had instructed. It appears that Unger caused the client to incur damages relating to stocks. Therefore, Edward Jones opted to settle the matter on September 30, 2022, by compensating the client in the amount of $10,585.45.
