The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) reports that investors filed disputes about Brian Robert Bates (CRD#: 2318413, Chandler, Arizona). Evidently, Bates presently works for BBVA Securities as securities broker, and he works for PNC Managed Account Solutions as financial advisor. Let’s take a closer look at the investors’ disputes.
Evidently, Brian Bates’ client at BBVA Securities Inc. expressed concerns in February 2020 about Bates’ sales practices. Allegedly, Bates sold them a CD that they believed to be insured. However, the offering document indicated that there was no FDIC insurance. For this reason, the client claimed that Bates misrepresented information about the structured CD and that this caused damages. Evidently, this matter is closed as the client took no further action.
Notably, a client of BBVA Compass Investment Solutions disputed Brian Bates’ actions. In particular, the client claimed in this May 2017 matter that they bought a misrepresented annuity. Not only that, but the client claimed that the variable annuity did not match with their suitability profile. However, this matter closed without resolution.
Apparently, Brian Bates used to work for Chase Investment Services Corp. It appears that a client of that securities firm brought a dispute about Bates. Mainly, the client claimed that Bates misrepresented information concerning a managed account investment. Evidently, Chase Investment Services Corp settled this matter through compensating the client.
