Soreide Law Group is looking into potential investor disputes against securities broker Cary Moskowitz [CRD#: 1287997, New York, New York]. Notably, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) BrokerCheck shows that 3 or more clients were allegedly wronged by the securities broker, who joined UBS in 2008. Supposedly, clients of UBS indicate that Moskowitz sold risky and unsuitable investments which caused their losses. Check out this brief summary of the disclosures concerning Moskowitz:
Cary Moskowitz Allegedly Makes Risky Options Transactions Causing Losses To UBS Client
Apparently, on October 3, 2019, a client of UBS contested Cary Moskowitz’s options recommendations or sales. Allegedly, Moskowitz wrote uncovered naked options that were speculative and high risk. Not only that, but the client indicated that the securities broker sold options short without making sure that the client had enough shares to cover a call. It appears that Moskowitz’s actions were not supported by the client’s risk tolerance and objectives. Moreover, Moskowitz apparently failed to tell the client about risks of uncovered naked options transactions. As a result, the client alleged $14,000,000 in damages in this ongoing matter.
Morgan Stanley DW Investor Signals That Moskowitz Misrepresented Information, Gave Bad Advice
Evidently, the UBS client is not the only one to have alleged misrepresentation and unsuitable transactions because of Cary Moskowitz. Namely, in 2003, a Morgan Stanley client brought a formal dispute about the broker. Supposedly, Moskowitz misled the client about mutual funds trades. It appears that the broker also gave the client bad advice. Because of this, the client alleged $200,000 in damages. However, Morgan Stanley denied this complaint.
