Investors have come forward with complaints about securities broker Corey Jon Engelhard (CRD: 2788550, Plantation, Florida). Specifically, a client of Morgan Stanley contested Corey Engelhard’s sales practices, according to a complaint dated October 10, 2022. Allegedly, Engelhard provided unsuitable advice. Supposedly, Engelhard caused the client to sustain damages on UITs. Therefore, the client sought compensatory relief from Morgan Stanley or Engelhard. However, the securities firm denied this complaint.
Particularly, a client of Wachovia Securities LLC contested Corey Engelhard’s sales practices, according to a complaint. Allegedly, Engelhard failed to explain risks to the client. Supposedly, Engelhard caused the client to sustain damages on auction rate securities. Therefore, Wachovia Securities LLC opted to settle the matter on August 15, 2008, by compensating the client in the amount of $75,000.
Also, a Wachovia Securities LLC client filed a complaint about Corey Engelhard. Namely, the client alleged that Engelhard placed the client in ARS products which resulted in illiquidity. Because of this, the client allegedly sustained damages on auction rate securities. Therefore, on August 15, 2008, Wachovia Securities LLC settled this matter by paying the client $575,000 in damages.
Engelhard joined Morgan Stanley as a securities broker and financial advisor in December 2014.
