Customers File Disputes Involving UBS Financial Services’ Pedro Pons

Pedro J. Jose Pons (CRD#: 2495983, San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a prior general securities representative of UBS Financial Services Inc. First, the customer alleged misrepresentation of material facts about Puerto Rican bonds and closed-end funds. Second, the customer claimed that the investments were not suitable. Apparently, the investments were not appropriate because of the customer’s risk tolerance or investment objectives. Third, the customer claimed that UBS Financial Services Inc. failed to supervise the customer’s activities. As a result, the customer made a request for $800,000.00 in compensation. This matter is pending a resolution.

June 21, 2018 Arbitration Concerning Pedro Pons

 
On June 21, 2018, a customer of UBS Financial Services Inc. filed a $1,000,000.00 FINRA Arbitration Claim #18-02292 about Pedro Pons. Mainly, the customer asserted claims against the firm or Pedro Pons of unsuitability. Additionally, the customer alleged that there was an over-concentration of the customer’s investments in Puerto Rico municipal bonds. Also, the customer asserted claims of misrepresentation concerning those investments. Evidently, the customer in this pending case alleged $1,000,000.00 in damages.

November 27, 2017 Involving Pedro Pons

 

A customer of UBS Financial Services Inc. filed A FINRA Arbitration #17-02834 on November 27, 2017. Specifically, the matter concerned bad sales practices from December 2012 to September 2016. Allegedly, Pedro Pons, or someone under his supervision, made bad investment recommendations for the customer about investments in Puerto Rico bonds. Moreover, the customer claimed that the investments were misrepresented and wrongfully allocated. Therefore, the customer demanded $50,000.00 in damages.
