Family Broker Fraud

David H Austin (Also known as: David Harry Nelson Austin, David Austin, David Harry-Nelson Austin) CRD#: 6702519, a former broker from JPMorgan of Grand Rapids, Michigan, was barred by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. (FINRA), on June 11, 2020, from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with a broker/dealer firm.
Without admitting or denying FINRA’s findings, David H Austin consented to the sanction and to the entry of FINRA’s findings that he allegedly converted approximately $144,000 from three customers of his member firm's affiliated bank.
FINRA’s findings stated that David H Austin allegedly forged withdrawal slips for the bank customers, two of whom were over 90 years old, and made unauthorized cash withdrawals from their accounts, which he kept for his personal use.
David H Austin also allegedly transferred funds from two of these customers' joint bank account to his personal bank account without authorization. This allegedly took place from January of 2019 through March of 2020.
According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, David H Austin was terminated from JPMorgan on April 23, 2020, following the allegations, “Terminated by affiliate bank – non securities related.  Registered representative, in the capacity of an affiliate bank employee, admitted to misappropriating approximately $144,000 from affiliate bank customers for his personal use.”
David H Austin began his career in the securities industry with JPMorgan in October of 2016, according to FINRA’s BrokerCheck. Austin also worked at JPMorgan’s affiliate bank, according to the letter of acceptance, waiver and consent published by FINRA.
