Edward Hill Facing Client Disputes Concerning Unsuitable Investments

Investors apparently complained about securities broker Edward Terral Hill (also known as Ed Hill) [CRD: 6008804, West End, North Carolina], according to disclosures on FINRA BrokerCheck. According to the regulator, Edward Hill has worked for LPL Financial LLC in North Carolina since March 1, 2018. Previously, he worked for Edward Jones from January 27, 2012, to February 13, 2018. LPL Financial LLC Investor Accused Hill of Unsuitable Recommendations

Particularly, on January 10, 2025, an LPL Financial LLC client filed FINRA Arbitration No. 25-00063 about Edward Hill. The client alleged that Hill made unsuitable recommendations regarding structured products in 2021, which did not align with the client’s investment objectives and risk tolerance. Because of this, the client allegedly sustained damages. Therefore, the client requested $175,000 in compensation from LPL Financial LLC or Hill. Evidently, this arbitration is pending a resolution.

LPL Financial LLC Investor Accused Edward Hill of Unsuitable Recommendations

Specifically, an LPL Financial LLC client filed FINRA Arbitration No. 23-02783 about Edward Hill. Supposedly, Hill made unsuitable recommendations. Because of this, the client allegedly sustained damages on structured notes. Therefore, on September 9, 2024, LPL Financial LLC settled this matter by paying the client $220,000 in damages.

Hill Disclosed Poor Performance Allegations by LPL Financial LLC Client

Also, a client of LPL Financial LLC contested Edward Hill’s sales practices, according to a complaint dated October 2, 2023. Allegedly, Hill failed to follow instructions, resulting in a loss of $20,805.24. It appears that Hill allegedly caused the client to sustain damages on a structured note. Therefore, the client sought damages from LPL Financial LLC or Hill in the amount of $20,805.24 in this matter.

LPL Financial LLC Investor Accused Edward Hill of Unauthorized Trading

Specifically, a client filed a complaint about Edward Hill. Supposedly, Hill engaged in unauthorized trading by reinvesting a structured note that had been called in August 2021 without the client’s authorization. Therefore, on April 5, 2023, LPL Financial LLC settled this matter by paying the client $18,747.45 in damages.
