Gary Leavitt Focus Of American Trust Investment Services Client Dispute Alleging Negligence

Investors potentially experienced sales practice violations because of securities broker Gary Lee Leavitt [CRD: 712745, Whiting, Indiana], according to disclosures on FINRA BrokerCheck. Gary Leavitt worked for American Trust Investment Services Inc. from June 8, 2021 to February 14, 2025; McDermott Investment Services LLC from December 7, 2018 to October 22, 2020; and previously from May 22, 2018 to August 28, 2018. American Trust Investment Services Client Accused Leavitt Of Negligence

Specifically, on May 7, 2024, an American Trust Investment Services Inc. client filed FINRA Arbitration No. 24-01000 about Leavitt. Allegedly, Leavitt breached his fiduciary duty, failed to supervise, and was negligent. Because of this, the client allegedly incurred damages linked to TIC 1031 investments. So, the client requested $5,000,000.00 in compensation from American Trust Investment Services Inc. or Leavitt. Evidently, this arbitration is awaiting a resolution.

Gary Leavitt Disclosed Unauthorized Trading Allegations By GMI Securities Client

Additionally, a client of GMI Securities Inc. contested Gary Leavitt’s sales practices by filing NASD Arbitration No. 90-03439. Supposedly, Leavitt engaged in unauthorized trading involving over-the-counter equities. Consequently, NASD Arbitrators issued an Award dated July 17, 1991 compelling GMI Securities Inc. and Leavitt to compensate the client in the amount of $6,300.55.
