Broker Gregory Young Faces Alternative Investment Disputes From Voya Financial Clients

FINRA BrokerCheck contains important disclosures on Gregory Scott Young (CRD#: 3063221, Blythewood, South Carolina). It appears that Young worked for Voya Financial Advisors (2012 to 2017), and JP Turner Company (2010 to 2012). You’ll want to take a closer look at the allegations of misrepresentation and unsuitable trading as reported on BrokerCheck. However, keep in mind that the securities broker denies committing improper sales practices.

Gregory Young’s Voya Financial Advisors Client Alleges Unsuitable Alternative Investments

Particularly, in July 2019, a client brought a dispute about Gregory Young and Voya Financial Advisors. It appears that the securities firm or Young caused the client to incur damages because of unsuitable investments in CDs, DPPs, LPs, and structured steepener notes. Consequently, Voya Financial Advisors settled with the client for $40,000 in damages on February 24, 2020.

For this reason, Voya Financial Advisors acquiesced to resolving this matter, with no admission of liability, by paying the client $61,685 in damages on December 19, 2018.

Gregory Young’s Client Alleges Misrepresentation At Voya Financial Advisors Concerning Corporate Bond, Variable CD

Specifically, a Voya Financial Advisors client expressed concerns about Gregory Young’s sales practices, as BrokerCheck shows that the client lodged an investment dispute on February 28, 2018. Mainly, the securities broker faces accusations of misrepresentation (during the time leading up to the purchase of the investment). Notably, Young allegedly caused the client to experience damages as a result of his actions relating to corporate bonds and CDs. It appears that the client received $35,000 in damages from the securities firm in the settlement of the investment dispute in October 2018.

Young Supposedly Sells Inappropriate CDs To JP Turner Company Client

Evidently, a client of JP Turner Company contested Gregory Young’s sales practices by bringing an investment dispute on July 25, 2017. Supposedly, Young caused the client to incur damages relating to the client’s investments in CDs. The client’s allegations against the securities firm or broker include misrepresentation. Because of the alleged inappropriate sales practices, the client seeks compensatory relief to settle this matter with the securities firm.

Comprehensive Asset Management And Servicing Permits Gregory Young To Resign

The securities firm terminated Gregory Young’s employment on October 10, 2017. In particular, the securities firm alleges that the securities broker failed to disclose an arbitration where he was named as a party.
