ISAIAH L GOODMAN Sentenced to 7 Years in Prison

FINRA Lawsuit Filed

Former Minnesota broker/financial advisor, ISAIAH L GOODMAN (CRD#: 6011060), was sentenced in federal court recently to over seven years in prison after he was convicted in a mail fraud scheme.  After he completes his prison sentence, Goodman will then have three years of supervised release, in addition he also has to forfeit his equity in real estate and some personal property.
ISAIAH L GOODMAN was barred by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from acting as a broker or investment adviser or otherwise associating with firms that sell securities or provide investment advice to the public for misappropriating more than $2.3 million of his clients’ money.
In a recent article in Financial Advisor IQ, it stated that from 2017 through November 2020, ISAIAH L GOODMAN defrauded at least 23 of his clients by claiming that he would invest their funds into secure and profitable financial accounts. ISAIAH L GOODMAN was a registered investment advisor and broker who owned Becoming Financial Group and Becoming Financial Advisory Services.
According to the US Attorney’s Office, Goodman placed the money into bank accounts he controlled and then he used these funds for purchasing and remodeling his home in Maple Grove, Minnesota. He also purchased a home in Plymouth, Minnesota for $1.69 million, two cars, and funneled approximately $700,000 to other businesses. ISAIAH L GOODMAN also used some of his clients’ money to pay back other clients who had requested refunds.
ISAIAH L GOODMAN, according to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, began in the securities industry in 2012 at Northwestern Mutual Investment Services in Edina, Minnesota and then moved to MML Investors Services in Minneapolis in 2016. He was with MML until July 2018, when he became registered as an investment advisor with Becoming Financial.
