JAMES F. ANDERSON Barred by FINRA

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. (FINRA) has barred JAMES F. ANDERSON (CRD#: 4803514), from acting as a broker or otherwise associating with a broker-dealer firm. Anderson, a former registered representative with Ameritas Investment Corp of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota, was barred following allegations that he failed to take part in an inquiry looking into charges that he engaged in selling away.
According to FINRA, on June 3, 2019, without admitting or denying the findings, Anderson consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he allegedly refused to provide FINRA with requested documents and information during the course of an investigation into allegations that Anderson had engaged in the purchase and sale of securities away from his member firm, without the knowledge or approval of the firm.
JAMES F. ANDERSON, according to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, spent his entire 14 year career in the securities industry at Ameritas Investment Corp in Dakota Dunes, South Dakota. Anderson was registered there from 07/29/2004 - 02/11/2019.
In February of 2019, according to BrokerCheck, JAMES F. ANDERSON was discharged from Ameritas Investment Corp following allegations, “Upon conclusion of internal investigation, Registered Representative was found to have engaged in the sales of Indexed Annuities and Promissory Notes away from the firm.”
Also, in January of 2013, there was an allegation on Anderson’s CRD report stating, “During the exam period, Mr. Anderson was found to have sold Indexed Annuities that were not listed on the Firm's approved list. The transactions equaled to an undisclosed outside business activity, to which prompt/prior notice was not given to the Firm.
There is a pending Customer Dispute on JAMES F. ANDERSON’s CRD report dated 4/16/19 alleging, “Claimant alleges unsuitable recommendation to purchase promissory note (selling away).” The damage amount requested is, $400,000.00.
