The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) reports important information about securities broker James Simpson [CRD: 424828, Toledo, Ohio]. Evidently, investors disputed the sales practices of the securities broker, who worked for Equitable Advisors LLC. Additionally, the securities broker disclosed a regulatory enforcement action. Equitable Advisors LLC Investor Accused James Simpson Of Misappropriation

Evidently, an Equitable Advisors LLC client filed a complaint about James Simpson. Namely, the client alleged that Simpson misappropriated funds. Because of this, the client allegedly sustained damages. Therefore, on August 31, 2022, Equitable Advisors LLC settled this matter by paying the client $20,000 in damages.

Simpson Disclosed Misrepresentation Allegations By AXA Advisors LLC Client

Also, a client of AXA Advisors LLC contested James Simpson’s sales practices, according to a complaint dated April 1, 2009. Allegedly, Simpson made misrepresentations of material fact. Supposedly, the insurance product transactions resulted in damages. Therefore, the client requested compensatory relief from AXA Advisors LLC. However, the firm denied this complaint.

Equitable Advisors LLC Investor Accused James Simpson Of Unsuitable Recommendations

Evidently, an Equitable Advisors LLC client filed a complaint about James Simpson. Namely, the client alleged that Simpson made unsuitable recommendations. Because of this, the client allegedly sustained damages on mutual funds and variable annuities. Therefore, on January 28, 2022, Equitable Advisors LLC settled this matter by paying the client $51,500 in damages.

Equitable Advisors LLC Securities Broker Barred by FINRA For Failure To Provide Information

Additionally, FINRA issued Case: 2021072352301 on November 19, 2021, which contains sanctions against James Simpson for infractions. Allegedly, Simpson failed to provide information and documents to FINRA when it investigated possible violations of FINRA rules. Therefore, Simpson was barred as a securities broker.

Namely, FINRA says that on September 29, 2021, in connection with FINRA’s investigation into allegations that Simpson had misappropriated funds or engaged in unsuitable recommendations, FINRA sent Simpson a request seeking the production of documents and information. On October 19, 2021, Simpson indicated to FINRA staff that he had received the request but would not produce the requested information and documents. As a result, Simpson violated FINRA Rules 2010 and 8210.

Equitable Advisors LLC Permits Securities Broker James Simpson To Resign

Specifically, on August 19, 2021, Equitable Advisors LLC terminated the registration of Simpson. Namely, Equitable Advisors LLC alleged that Simpson left the firm when it investigated him for a client complaint.

Simpson worked for Equitable Advisors LLC in Toledo, OH, as a securities broker from October of 1980 to August of 2021.
