Cetera Investment Services Client Alleges Sales Practice Violation By Broker John Broughton

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) reports important information about securities broker John Charles Broughton (CRD#: 2362478, Gross Pointe Woods, Michigan). Specifically, four investors filed disputes about Broughton. One of those investors filed a claim in July 2020 concerning Broughton’s actions at Cetera Investment Services LLC. Evidently, Broughton worked as a Cetera Investment Services securities broker from December 2016 to April 2020. Here’s more about the investor disputes.

Cetera Investment Services Client Alleges Misrepresentation By John Broughton

Notably, a client of Cetera Investment Services LLC disputed John Broughton’s activities. In this July 2020 complaint, the client contends that Broughton misrepresented how much interest the client was due on the annuity. Not only that, but the Cetera Investment Services securities broker allegedly misrepresented fees charged on the annuity. For this reason, the client sought relief. However, Cetera Investment Services denied this complaint in August 2020.

NatCity Investor Disputes Concerning Broughton

It appears that the other disputes on John Broughton’s BrokerCheck record concern his activities at a former securities firm employer, NatCity Investments. In one of those disputes, a client alleges the securities broker’s misrepresentation regarding stocks. Evidently, the firm negotiated a settlement with the client. BrokerCheck shows that in a different dispute that settled for compensation to a client, Broughton allegedly provided improper investment advice. Supposedly, the client experienced damages on a variable annuity transaction.
John Broughton also worked for securities firms Citizens Securities (April 2020 to January 2021) and LPL Financial LLC (April 2011 to January 2017).
