FINRA initially suspended Schongar following notices dated February 12, 2026, and March 9, 2026. Under FINRA Rule 9552(h), Schongar became automatically barred after he did not request termination of the suspension within three months of the suspension notice.

Keith Schongar is the subject of an investigation initiated by FINRA on October 1, 2025, into allegations that Schongar was connected to transactions involving funds transferred from a Charles Schwab Co. investment account on which Schongar was an authorized party while associated with Empower Financial Services.

Empower stated that its compliance personnel met with Schongar and provided him with FINRA’s request and response deadline.
