Wan Soo Kim (CRD #5986534, Los Angeles, California)
was assessed a deferred fine of $7,500 and suspended by FINRA for nine months. Allegedly, Kim signed his bank manager’s name on a bank document without the bank manager’s authorization or knowledge.
FINRA stated that Kim's bank client called inquiring about the status of a check that the client had remitted to a third party. Kim found out that the bank had not paid the check. Kim's client claimed they needed the check to be cleared, Kim then signed the bank manager’s name on the bank document, changing the status of the client's check, from “return – not paid” to “paid,” without his bank manager’s knowledge or authorization.
FINRA also stated that Kim did not respond in a timely manner to FINRA’s requests for documents and information regarding the forgery allegations.
The suspension is in effect from April 7, 2014, through January 6, 2015.
