Did You Experience REIT losses Due to the Recommendations of Texas Broker, Mark Sitter?

Investment loss

Soreide Law Group is currently investigating on behalf our clients, Capital Financial Services of The Woodlands, Texas, broker:
MARK RAYMOND SITTER CRD#: 1810591
Soreide Law Group has been contacted by several clients from Texas who invested in high-risk Real Estate Investment Trusts or REITs through broker, Mark Sitter. These REITs were including, but not limited to, Hospitality Investors Trust, Inc. or HIT REIT. Hospitality Investors Trust, Inc. (HIT REIT) is a publicly registered non-traded real estate investment trust which owns a portfolio of hotel properties throughout North America.
Currently, the stocks of some real estate investment trusts (REITs) are taking a dive over fears of higher interest rates. Real estate companies borrow money to finance their purchases, so if rates rise, it would also likely squeeze their profit margins. One of the biggest problems when buying REITs is the lack of control. When you buy shares, the money is used to purchase real estate assets. They use the money generated by those assets to pay you a distribution. The investor has to trust that the broker/dealer is doing a good job.  REITs are listed on the stock market but the values of their assets are linked to the real estate markets.
According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, Mark Sitter has 5 Disclosures on his BrokerCheck, 4 of which are Customer Disputes.  Mark Sitter has 29 years of experience in the securities industry and was listed with 2 firms.  He has been registered since 1/4/2006 with:
CAPITAL FINANCIAL SERVICES, INC.
8111 ASHLANE WAY SUITE 103
THE WOODLANDS, TX 77382
