Wells Fargo, SunTrust Investors File Disputes About Securities Broker Raul Benitez

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) discloses through BrokerCheck that investors filed disputes about securities broker Raul Jorge Benitez (CRD#: 4457185, Aventura, Florida). Particularly, four investors filed complaints, and allegations in one or more of them include misrepresentation and suitability. Evidently, Raul Benitez worked for SunTrust Investment Services as a securities broker in Miami, Florida between 2014 and 2018. He also worked at SunTrust Investment Services as financial advisor from 2014 to 2016 and SunTrust Advisory Services from 2016 to 2018. It appears that a client of SunTrust Investment Services filed a dispute about Benitez. In this July 2021 FINRA Arbitration Claim, the client contended that Benitez made an unsuitable recommendation or sale of a NorthStar investment. Supposedly, the client incurred losses on a guaranteed investment contract. For this reason, the client demanded $218,707 in compensation. Evidently, this matter is awaiting resolution as of September 1, 2021.

Client Of Wells Fargo Clearing Services Alleges Unsuitable Recommendations, Misrepresentation In Dispute About Benitez

BrokerCheck shows that after working for SunTrust, Raul Benitez joined Wells Fargo Clearing Services in Aventura, Florida and Hialeah, Florida. It seems that a client of Wells Fargo Clearing Services complained about Benitez in December 2020. Supposedly, the client agreed to invest in a strategy because of Benitez. Supposedly, this strategy entailed the client’s use of a portfolio of securities as collateral for a loan. Allegedly, the broker provided unsuitable investment recommendations in this respect. Not only that, but the securities broker is accused of misrepresentation. Because of this, the client asked for $700,000 in this ongoing matter.

SunTrust Investment Services Client Alleges Bad Advice By Raul Benitez Regarding Managed Account

Also, a client of SunTrust Investment Services brought a dispute about Raul Benitez in February 2019. Supposedly, this client took issue with the suitability of Benitez’s transactions. Allegedly, it was not suitable for Benitez to have the client invest in the managed account. Because of this, the client reportedly experienced damages. Evidently, SunTrust Investment Services reportedly chose to settle this matter through compensating the client in the amount of $8,486.24.

Chase Investment Services Corp Client Alleges Unauthentic Signatures On Account Documents

Moreover, Raul Benitez worked for Chase Investment Services Corp before SunTrust. Evidently, a client of Chase Investment Services Corp alleged misconduct by Benitez concerning mutual funds. In the dispute, the client alleged that their account documents contained unauthentic signatures. However, Chase Investment Services Corp denied this dispute.
