SONYA D CAMARCO (Also known as: SONIA D FATCHETT, SONYA D FATCHETT, SONYA D FATCHETT-CAMARCO) CRD#: 2427529),
a 45 year-old financial advisor from Colorado Springs, Colorado, was indicted September 21, 2017 by a Colorado grand jury, faces six counts of securities fraud and seven counts of theft.
SONYA D CAMARCO was with LPL Financial Holdings since February of 2004.  It is alleged Camarco diverted more than $850,000 in client funds for her own personal use between January 2013 and May 2017. Allegedly, Camarco used her clients’ funds for her own credit card payments, real estate, taxes and automobile expenses.
LPL Financial Holdings conducted an investigation in July of 2017 due to a suspicious check. The company discovered several checks were drawn on different accounts belonging to Camarco's clients, that were payable to an account controlled by SONYA D CAMARCO. LPL’s investigation also discovered Camarco was allegedly endorsing the checks from her clients' accounts without authorization.  LPL then fired Camarco.
The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) said she allegedly did not return funds to the investors or disclose she was placing them in "Camarco Investments" account controlled by Camarco. DORA reported that one of Camarco’s clients was an elderly woman with dementia.
This indictment stemmed from the investigation by the Colorado Division of Securities, which is part of DORA. The case is being prosecuted by the Colorado Attorney General’s Office.
