Family Broker Fraud

National Securities Corporation Clients File Disputes Over Willard Pugh's Alternative Investment Transactions

Soreide Law Group has new information to share with you in regard to securities broker Willard Louis Pugh (CRD#: 1757428, Boca Raton, Florida). Evidently, he worked for Dawson James Securities (2007 to 2016) and National Securities Corporation (2016 to present) as securities broker, and worked for Dawson James Asset Management Inc. (2007 to 2016) and National Asset Management Inc. (2016 to present) as financial advisor. Notably, FINRA shows that Pugh is involved in disputes where three of his investors allege misconduct. These investor disputes allege that Pugh caused damages through making sales practice violations. Here’s more on those disclosures about the securities broker.

National Securities Corporation Client Alleges Unsuitable Private Placement In Dispute About Willard Pugh

Namely, a client of National Securities Corp filed a dispute about Willard Pugh in January 2021. The nature of this dispute concerns suitability. Basically, suitability has to do with an investor’s risk tolerance, financial circumstances, investment objectives, age, experience with investing, among other things that bear on whether an investment is suitable. In this case, the National Securities Corp client alleges that Pugh sold an unsuitable private placement to them. Because of this, the client seemingly experienced damages. This claim, in which the client alleges $100,000 in damages, is ongoing as of August 2021.

Pugh Allegedly Sold Unsuitable Investment To Dawson James Securities Client Causing Financial Damages

Evidently, a client of Dawson James Securities came forward in July 2020 to contest Willard Pugh’s sales of a real estate investment trust known as UDF V REIT. It appears that UDF was not a suitable investment for this client and that Pugh possibly concentrated too much of their investment account in that investment. More particularly, the client claimed that Pugh made an improper recommendation about the investments. Further, Dawson James Securities allegedly performed inadequate due diligence on the real estate security transaction. For this reason, the client expects payment of $155,000 to resolve this ongoing FINRA Arbitration Claim.

Client Of National Securities Corporation Alleges Bad Investment Recommendations By Willard Pugh

In addition, BrokerCheck reports that a client of National Securities Corp alleged suitability in a June 2020 FINRA Arbitration Claim. That investor reportedly invested in an unsuitable private placement because of Willard Pugh. Therefore, the client seeks $300,000 in damages. Evidently, this matter is awaiting a resolution.
