Soreide Law Group is currently investigating potential claims made by investors who have contacted us alleging that WILLIAM COLIN SEIBERT, currently a broker and investment advisor with RAYMOND JAMES & ASSOCIATES, INC. in Louisiana, allegedly recommended they purchase large concentrations of the high-risk oil and gas stocks, Linn Energy and Memorial Production Partners LP (MEMP).
Memorial Production Partners LP engaged in the acquisition, exploitation, development, and production of oil and natural gas properties. Its projects were located in South Texas, East Texas/Louisiana, Rockies, California, and Permian. The company was founded in April 2011 and is headquartered in Houston, TX. The company went bankrupt in 2017 and emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy with a new name. The former Memorial Production Partners is now Amplify Energy Corp. (AMPY).
Linn Energy abandoned the name and divided into multiple businesses, after filing for bankruptcy in 2016 with approximately $8.3 billion in debt, one of the biggest bankruptcy of the oil bust. Initially, Linn expanded fast, grew rapidly and took on an amount of debt that proved far too much to survive a prolonged downturn.
