FINRA Findings Against Xing Su Of Univest Securities Over Undisclosed OBAs
Univest Securities is the firm named in a FINRA regulatory event on the BrokerCheck report of Xing Su (CRD 4031195). BrokerCheck shows the event received on September 3, 2026, under docket number 2024083689501.
The Undisclosed OBA Findings Against Xing Su
FINRA found that Xing Su engaged in undisclosed OBAs, the industry shorthand for outside business activities. Without admitting or denying the findings, Su consented to them.
What Counts As Outside Business Activity For A Broker
Outside business activity means work a broker does for pay away from the firm. It can be a side business, a board seat, consulting or a role with another company.
FINRA's rules require a broker to give the firm written notice before starting such work. The firm then decides whether to limit it, supervise it or allow it. Undisclosed outside work can create conflicts the firm never sees. It can also blur, for a customer, which business stands behind a product.
These are the general rules behind the Xing Su findings.
How A FINRA Consent Settlement Like Xing Su's Works
Most FINRA cases end by consent. The broker signs a settlement letter that sets out FINRA's findings and the sanctions. Signing it does not mean the broker admits the conduct, and it does not mean she denies it. Once FINRA accepts the settlement, the findings stand as FINRA findings.
When we review a broker's record, we read consent findings as findings, whatever the settlement language says. Investors can read the Xing Su disclosure in full on BrokerCheck.
Su consented to the sanctions FINRA imposed in the settlement.
How Long An Investor Has To File
Under FINRA's arbitration code, a claim generally has to be filed within six years. The six years run from the event behind the claim, which is often the purchase or the last recommendation. State statutes of limitation can also apply, and some are shorter. With those deadlines, waiting to see whether the account recovers can cost an investor the claim. The first step is to gather the account statements and the confirmations. We review them at no cost and explain whether a claim is still timely.
FINRA member firms must supervise the activities of their brokers. If you have questions about an account that Xing Su handled, call Soreide Law Group at (888) 760-6552.
