CONSTANTINOS GEORGE MANIATIS (CONSTANTINOS G MANIATIS) CRD#: 4253356, formerly with Morgan Stanley, was fined $5,000 and suspended for 30 days by FINRA.

Without admitting or denying FINRA’s findings, CONSTANTINOS G MANIATIS consented to the sanctions and to the entry of findings that he allegedly exercised discretion in client accounts despite the fact that his member firm no longer permitted such discretionary trading.

According to FINRA’s findings, although the firm and the clients had previously authorized the exercise of discretion in the accounts at issue, at the time of the transactions, the firm did not permit the exercise of discretion in the accounts and no longer accepted the accounts as discretionary accounts.

CONSTANTINOS G MANIATIS will pay $1,000 for the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) violations, with the other $4,000 for violating FINRA rules.

According to an article in Bond Buyer, between May 4, 2018 and Feb, 27, 2019, while with Morgan Stanley, CONSTANTINOS G MANIATIS allegedly exercised discretion in seven client accounts despite Morgan Stanley no longer allowing discretionary trading. The article stated that several of those transactions involved municipal securities, and in May 2019, Morgan Stanley fired Maniatis.
