Clients Of Merrill Lynch File Disputes About Frank Coussens' Investment Transactions

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) contains new information in regard to securities broker Frank Joseph Coussens (CRD#: 730556, Coral Gables, Florida). Evidently, Coussens worked for firms Merrill Lynch (1981 to 2016) and Ameriprise Financial Services (2016 to present) as both financial advisor and securities broker. It appears that three investors filed disputes about the securities broker. Let’s take a closer look at what investors allege in these disputes.

Client Alleges Unsuitable Transactions By Frank Coussens At Ameriprise Financial Services, Merrill Lynch

Evidently, a client of Ameriprise Financial Services and Merrill Lynch brought a dispute about Frank Coussens. In the February 2020 complaint, the client’s unauthorized representative alleges that Coussens made an unsuitable sale of All American Pipeline Limited Partnership at Merrill Lynch. Supposedly, Coussens failed to sell the investment when the price declined. However, the securities firms denied the dispute.

Merrill Lynch Client Alleges Coussens Made Unsuitable Investment Recommendations

Evidently, a client of Merrill Lynch took aim at Frank Coussens’ investment recommendations. The client alleges that Coussens provided unsuitable advice about common and preferred stock. Also, Coussens supposedly misrepresented details in connection with stock trades. For this reason, the client asked for compensation. Coussens and the firm deny the client's allegations. However, Merrill Lynch opted to settle this matter by making a $27,500 payment. Coussens did not contribute to the settlement of this matter.

Frank Coussens’ Client Alleges Negligence

Moreover, a client of Merrill Lynch complained about Frank Coussens. Supposedly, Coussens negligently caused the client to invest in a fund. Supposedly, the client was not the right fit for the funds, and their purchases of the fund resulted in damages. It appears that Merrill Lynch resolved the allegations of negligence and unsuitability by paying the client $80,000.
