Evidently, FINRA sanctioned the securities broker, who worked for J.P. Morgan Securities LLC. Particularly, on January 26, 2021, FINRA issued Case: 2019064899201 sanctioning Jasmit Singh for infractions. Specifically, Singh received a $10,000 fine and a suspension as a securities broker from February to August 2021. Namely, FINRA alleged that Singh engaged in private securities transactions and engaged in an undisclosed outside business activity.
Supposedly, Singh did not inform J.P. Morgan Securities LLC about his marketing of vaping products, marketing apparel, and event promotion services via several companies that he owned. The regulator also contends that he obtained compensation for consulting services for a small business that did not have accounts with the securities broker dealer. It appears that Singh inaccurately stated to J.P. Morgan Securities LLC that he had no outside business activities to report.
In addition, FINRA says that Jasmit Singh solicited non-client investors to invest in private placement offerings via a venture capital fund. Supposedly, those investors corresponded with Singh in writing and verbally about the offerings, where Singh steered them towards investing and helped facilitate transactions. Notably, FINRA says that Singh introduced them to the venture capital fund’s general partner. Supposedly, he was compensated for his work.
