INVESTOR ALERT: Losses From KATHERINE NISHNIC?

Katherine Nishnic (CRD#: 2499553, Lexington, South Carolina) is a securities broker previously registered with J.P. Turner & Company, L.L.C. and Centaurus Financial, Inc. Notably, customers have complained about Nishnic’s sales practices. Indeed, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”) BrokerCheck shows that three customers referenced Nishnic when disputing the suitability of investments.  Here is a summary of the complaints involving Nishnic:

November 14, 2018 Arbitration Claim Suggesting Katherine Nishnic Gave Bad Advice About Risky Investments

Evidently, Customers of Centaurus Financial Inc. and J.P. Turner disputed Katherine Nishnic’s sales practices in filing FINRA Arbitration #18-03810 on November 7, 2018. Namely, customers alleged that Nishnic, as the financial advisor for the customer, made bad recommendations of investments. Supposedly, Nishnic advised the customer to invest in corporate debt, CDs and real estate securities. However, those investment recommendations were potentially incompatible with the customer’s risk tolerance. Given these allegations of suitability, the customer demanded up to $500,000 in compensation. Yet, Nishnic denies the customer’s allegations in this ongoing matter.

August 21, 2017 Complaint Alleging Nishic’s Bad CD Recommendations

A second customer dispute reported on Nishic’s FINRA BrokerCheck Report concerns unsuitable investment recommendations. Supposedly, the JP Turner customer and his spouse followed Katherine Nishnic’s investment recommendations to their peril. Allegedly, Nishnic was responsible for selling the customer CDs which were not reasonable. Therefore, the customer alleged $95,000.00 in damages. Apparently, this matter closed without further action on October 13, 2017.

April 11, 2017 Complaint Alleging Katherine Nishnic Made Unsuitable REIT Trades

The third complaint comes from a JP Turner customer who apparently suffered losses from Nishnic’s real estate security recommendations. Notably, the claim, brought April 11, 2017, alleges unsuitability regarding real estate securities. Supposedly, Nishnic recommended or sold the customer unreasonable real estate investment trust (REIT) investments. Although the customer requested compensatory relief, this matter closed without resolution on February 6, 2019.
