BBVA's Lori Welborn Facing Disputes From BBVA Clients About Variable Annuity Sales
The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) contains important information concerning the disputes involving securities broker Lori Ann Welborn (AKA Lori O’Bier and Lori Boland) (CRD#: 2344775, Richardson, Texas). It appears on BrokerCheck that six investors disputed Welborn’s sales practices, with one or more investors alleging unsuitable transactions by Welborn at BBVA Securities Inc. Here’s a closer look at the disclosures.
BBVA Securities Client Alleges Unsuitable Fixed Index Annuity By Lori Welborn
It appears that Lori Welborn worked for BBVA Securities as a securities broker from 2013 to 2021. She also worked for BBVA Compass Investment Solutions as a financial advisor from 2006 to 2013. Evidently, in January 2020, a client of the firm complained about her annuity sales. Mainly, the client alleged that Welborn’s fixed index annuity sale was not suitable. However, BBVA Securities denied this client’s allegations and claim for relief.
Welborn Allegedly Misrepresented, Omitted Variable Annuity Information To BBVA Securities Client
In the second most recent dispute listed on Lori Welborn’s BrokerCheck report, a client of BBVA Securities alleges misrepresentation. Supposedly, Welborn misrepresented and omitted features and terms on a variable annuity. However, the securities firm denied the client’s complaint.
Compass Brokerage Clients Allege Unsuitable Annuity Sales By Lori Welborn
It appears that Lori Welborn also used to work at Compass Brokerage Inc. and Lincoln Financial Advisors. BrokerCheck shows that two Compass Brokerage clients disputed Welborn’s variable annuity sales. Although the first Compass client alleged that the transaction was unsuitable, their matter was closed without resolution. A different client’s dispute, which also alleged an unsuitable variable annuity policy by Welborn, settled through compensation to the client.
