Melissa Spickler Involved In Merrill Lynch Clients’ Unsuitable Advice Complaints

Specifically, a Merrill Lynch client filed a complaint about Melissa Spickler, alleging that she failed to act in the client's best interest when a closed-end fund was purchased in April 2021. As a result, the client claimed to have sustained damages. Merrill Lynch settled the matter on October 20, 2022, by paying the client $32,402.18 in damages. However, Spickler denied the allegations of wrongdoing.

Notably, a client of Merrill Lynch contested Melissa Spickler's sales practices, according to a complaint. The customers, who are trustees, allege that Spickler failed to act in their best interest when a closed-end fund was purchased. Therefore, Merrill Lynch opted to settle the matter on October 19, 2022, by compensating the client in the amount of $39,663.08.

Spickler Disclosed Unsuitable Advice Allegations By Merrill Lynch Investor

Evidently, a client of Merrill Lynch contested Melissa Spickler's sales practices, according to a complaint dated August 15, 2005. Allegedly, Spickler made an unsuitable recommendation. It appears that Spickler allegedly caused the client to sustain damages on mutual funds. Therefore, the client sought compensation from Merrill Lynch or Spickler in the amount of $50,497 in this matter. However, the complaint was denied.

Client Alleged That Melissa Spickler Failed To Follow Instructions

Also, on September 14, 2004, a Merrill Lynch client filed a written complaint about Melissa Spickler. Specifically, the client alleged that Spickler failed to follow their instructions and instead subjected their retirement accounts to unsuitable trading. Consequently, the client requested compensatory damages. However, the complaint was denied by the firm.
