MSI, Citigroup Broker Brenda Labar Seemingly Breached Fiduciary Duty
Soreide Law Group is reviewing possible claims of sales practice violations against securities broker and financial advisor Brenda Louise Labar (CRD#: 4517754, Ontario, California). Apparently, Labar worked for Citigroup and MSI Financial Services before joining Pruco Securities and Prudential Financial Planning Services in July of this year. Here’s more on the client disputes which suggest that Labar caused losses through her bad sales practices.
MSI Financial Client Complaints About Brenda Labar’s Seemingly Misrepresented Annuity Sale
Notably, on February 21, 2020, a client of Brenda Labar brought a dispute to MSI’s attention. Mainly, the client alleged that Labar misrepresented an annuity which Labar sold to the client in 2015. Supposedly, Labar misled the client through making false or inaccurate statements about the annuity. For this reason, the client received compensation from MSI in May 2020.
Citigroup Client Claims That Labar Breached Fiduciary Duty
Evidently, a Citigroup client took aim at Brenda Labar in a lawsuit from 2009. Similar to the MSI client, this Citigroup client indicated that Labar was seemingly dishonest or misleading about investments. It appears that Labar purchased mutual funds because of Labar’s misrepresentations and deceptiveness. Not only that, but the client claimed that Labar breached a fiduciary duty and was negligent. Evidently, this matter settled for $11,000.
Brenda Labar Supposedly Fails To Follow Instructions To Citigroup Client
It appears that other Citigroup clients took action against the securities firm or Brenda Labar for their losses. Notably, a client who brought a 2008 lawsuit purportedly provided instructions to Labar for mutual fund investments. But Labar chose not to comply, according to the complaint. In addition, this client contended that Labar misrepresented risks of investments she sold. However, Citigroup denied this complaint.
