MML Ends Employment Relationship With Broker Chander Goel Over Life Insurance Practices

Soreide Law Group is looking into potential investor disputes against broker Chander Goel [CRD#: 4588999, New York, New York]. Apparently, MML Investors Services terminated him for suspicious life insurance practices. It seems that Goel possibly used inappropriate life insurance sales practices which may have harmed one or more clients of MML Investors Services. Also, FINRA BrokerCheck shows disputes from two clients of NYLife Securities, a firm who also disaffiliated with Goel for allegedly making improper premium payments on clients’ life insurance policies. Here is a brief summary of these clients’ allegations against Goel:

Chander Goel Allegedly Misrepresents Policy To NYLife Securities Client

Evidently, a client of NYLife Securities contested Chander Goel in a complaint dated April 30, 2017. Allegedly, Goel misrepresented a variable universal life (VUL) policy to this client. It is possible that Goel may have misled the client about the necessary premiums for the policies. Apparently, NYLife Securities opted to settle the client’s allegations on June 7, 2017 through compensating the client in the amount of $16,941.41.

NYLife Client Indicates That Goel Failed To Disclose Penalties For Surrendering Policy

Notably, on June 15, 2016, a NYLife Securities client brought an investment dispute about Chander Goel. Particularly, the client asserted that Goel misrepresented the client’s purchase of a survivorship variable universal life insurance policy. Also, Goel seemingly made false statements about the benefits of the policy. He purportedly made it seem that the client could withdrawal needed funds without penalty. Also, the client indicated that Goel failed to mention that there was a 10-year penalty period for surrendering the policy. As a result, on July 20, 2016, NYLife Securities resolved this issue through compensating the client $5,000.
