Did You Invest in AFIN and/or CLNC with CETERA Broker CHANG JEN VUNG?

Investment Loss

Soreide Law Group is currently investigating claims on behalf of our clients against:
CETERA INVESTMENT SERVICES LLC, and their registered representative, CHANG JEN VUNG (CRD#: 5347816)
The investors have sustained significant losses allegedly through the purchase of AFIN and/or CLNC from CETERA INVESTMENT SERVICES’ broker, CHANG JEN VUNG.
Colony Credit Real Estate Inc. (CLNC) is a commercial real estate credit real estate investment trust. Colony Credit Real Estate is one of the largest publicly traded commercial real estate (CRE) credit REITs It focuses on origination, acquisition, finance, and management of a portfolio made up of net lease real estate investments and commercial real estate debt located mainly in the United States.  CLNC began by a combination of NorthStar Real Estate Income II, Inc. and NorthStar Real Estate Income Trust, Inc. both of which are non-traded real estate investment trusts that a subsidiary sponsors and manages.
American Finance Trust, Inc. (AFIN), formerly known as American Realty Capital Trust, is a publicly traded real estate investment trust (REIT) listed on the Nasdaq focusing on managing and acquiring a high-quality single and multi-tenant portfolio that is service-retail focused, according to Yahoo Finance. Prior to its Nasdaq debut, American Finance Trust was designed as a non-traded REIT, where shares had been sold by brokers to investors at $25.00 apiece. An estimated $1,600,000,000.00 had been accumulated through the company’s offering during its non-REIT phase. AFIN was recently trading at 11.03.
Many investors were allegedly advised that AFIN would provide a safe and secure stream of income for retirement. AFIN dropped approximately 40% in a single trading day after the investment started trading publicly. Many investors have suffered substantial losses to their retirement savings due to the alleged improper recommendations in AFIN. Both FINRA and the SEC have issued warnings regarding REITs and the risks involved.  Also, brokers are required to disclose those risks to their clients before they invest in REITs.
REITs are equities containing substantial increase in risk compared with bonds or other income producing investments. REITs are subject to risk because of large concentrations in the real estate market. Many brokers recommend investors purchase REITs because of their attractive yields, but downplay the risk of the REITs. Because of the high commissions charged on REITs brokers may push REITs instead of other investments which could be more suitable for investors.
According to FINRA’s BrokerCheck, CHANG JEN VUNG, has one Disclosure on his report.  This Disclosure is a pending “Customer Dispute.” The allegations in this Dispute are, “Claimant alleges breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty and violations of FINRA rules.”  The damage amount requested is, $200,000.
CHANG JEN VUNG has been registered in the securities industry for 11 years and has been listed only with the following firm:
