Investors apparently complained about securities broker Deetra Marie Tesla (also known as Deetra Marie Portanova-Koch and Deetra Tesla-Koch) [CRD: 2567278, Missouri City, Texas], based on publicly available information on Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) BrokerCheck. Tesla has been registered with TCFG Wealth Management LLC since March 5, 2014. She was associated with Augment Capital LLC from November 13, 2023, to April 22, 2026. She also worked for Portsmouth Financial Services from January 12, 2023, to August 4, 2023.

TCFG Wealth Management Investor Accused Deetra Tesla Of Sales Practice Violations

Evidently, on March 11, 2026, a TCFG Wealth Management LLC client filed FINRA Arbitration No. 26-00475 about Deetra Tesla. Mainly, the client alleged that investments became excessively concentrated in Delaware Statutory Trusts that were recommended following the sale of real estate and in connection with tax-deferral strategies. The client further asserted claims involving unsuitable recommendations, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, negligent supervision, breach of contract, violations of federal securities laws, and violations of Florida securities laws.

As to Tesla specifically, the client alleged liability under the Securities Exchange Act based on her alleged management status. Because of this, the client allegedly sustained damages tied to DSTs. Consequently, the client requested compensation allegedly ranging from $1,000,000 to $5,000,000 from TCFG Wealth Management LLC or Tesla. BrokerCheck indicates that this arbitration is ongoing.

What Is Breach Of Fiduciary Duty Relating To DSTs?

A Delaware Statutory Trust (DST) is a real estate investment that allows investors to own shares of a property. A breach of fiduciary duty involving a DST generally means a broker or financial advisor is accused of not putting the client's interests first when recommending the investment. For example, an investor may claim that the advisor failed to explain important risks, recommended a DST that was not appropriate for the client's situation, or did not fully disclose information needed to make an informed decision.
